To produce high quality, nutritious, and affordable meat in a manner we can be proud of, while teaching our children good work ethic. This is a family farm, run by the 7 of us.
We raise British White and Angus Cattle on our pastures by Rose City. All beef is born and raised humanely on our farm. Along with being raised on pasture, our cattle are also fed alfalfa hay that we grow here on the farm along with a ration of transitional organic grain and non-gmo grain. Raising our cattle this way produces tender and flavorful beef.
We raise Berkshire and Berkshire cross pigs outdoors on dirt on our family farm. We purchase baby piglets from a friend's local farm, then raise them up until they are finished, feeding them alfalfa hay, transitional organic grain and non-gmo grain along with fresh garden produce. Letting our pigs free range outside, enjoying fresh air and sunshine creates amazing pork!
We raise Katahdin and Dorper Hair Sheep from birth to finish on our farm. What are hair sheep? Instead of having wool that needs to be sheared, they have a hair coat that they shed each spring. Hair lambs have a leaner carcass and the meat has a milder flavor than wool lamb. Our lambs are born all throughout the year.
Our Meat is processed under state inspection and we are inspected and licensed by the MDA to store and sell our meats directly to you. You can be assured our meat is from healthy animals and processed safely for you family to enjoy.
When you buy from our farm, you get the benefit of feeding your family healthy food while you provide our family an income to live on, and you play a role in keeping our local, family farm in business.
You are also supporting a farm working toward using sustainable and regenerative practices, always striving to learn and do better than we did the year before. We are a water quality certified farm. We use rotational grazing on some of our pastures, we do minimal fall tillage in our crop fields, we use a crop rotation that helps promote soil health, and we are experimenting with no till planting and using cover crops. Thank you for your support!
